SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2026: On December 1, 2025, the Staff Selection Commission issued the long-awaited announcement for Constable General Duty recruitment, opening up a significant opportunity for individuals seeking jobs in India’s main paramilitary services. The SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2025 will fill 25487 vacancies in eight major organisations: Border Security Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Assam Rifles, Secretariat Security Force, and Narcotics Control Bureau.

The online registration procedure started on December 1, 2025, and will continue until December 31, 2025, at 11:00 PM. Candidates can only submit their applications through the official website ssc.gov.in.

SSC GD Constable Eligibility Criteria 2025

The SSC GD Constable Eligibility Criteria 2025 encompasses educational qualifications and age requirements that candidates must fulfill before applying.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matriculation or 10th Class examination or equivalent from a recognized Board as on 1st January 2026. Candidates with pending or announced results after the cut-off date will be ineligible. The qualifying certificate must be from a State/UT recognised board, such as CBSE or ICSE.

Age Limit: The age restriction for SSC GD Constable 2025 is 18 to 23 years, as determined on January 1, 2026. It also means that applicants for the unreserved category must be born between January 2nd, 2003 and January 1st, 2008 (inclusive).

Relaxations in height and chest measurements are provided for candidates from hilly regions, tribal areas, and specific states as per government guidelines

The SSC GD Constable Online Application Form 2025 must be filed only through the official website ssc.gov.in between December 1st and December 31st, 2025. The application process is divided into two stages: one-time registration (OTR) and examination-specific application submission.

Step 1: Visit the official Staff Selection Commission website at www.ssc.gov.in and navigate to the homepage.

Step 2: Click on the “Register Now” or “New User Registration” link if you are a first-time applicant. Existing users can directly login using their Registration ID and Password.

Step 3: Complete the One-Time Registration by filling in basic details including Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, and Mobile Number (which will be verified through OTP).

Step 4: Enter your Aadhaar Number or alternative identity proof details such as Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport, or Driving License as specified in the form.

Step 5: Provide your highest educational qualification details including Board name, Roll Number, Year of Passing, and Percentage/Grade.

Step 6: Upload a current passport-sized image (20-50 KB, JPEG format) and a scanned signature (10-20 KB, JPEG format) in the proportions that are specified in the notification.

Step 7: Submit the OTR form and make an entry of the Registration ID and Password that were issued to your registered cellphone number and email.

Step 8: Login to the SSC portal using your credentials and click on the “Apply” button for SSC GD Constable Examination 2026.

Step 9: Select your three examination center preferences in order of priority from the available options.

Step 10: Choose your domicile state, district, and indicate your preference of CAPFs/Organizations where you wish to serve.

Step 11: Enter your matriculation examination details including Board, Roll Number, Year, and Percentage.

Step 12: Review all filled information carefully using the “Preview” option to ensure accuracy.

Step 13: Proceed to fee payment section and select your preferred payment mode – BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card.

Step 14: Complete the payment transaction and verify the payment status showing as “Successful”.

Step 15: Submit the final application by accepting the declaration and entering the captcha code.

Step 16: Download and save the confirmation page or application form for future reference until the completion of recruitment process.

Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (CBE)

The first stage consists of an objective-type computer-based test containing 80 multiple-choice questions worth 160 marks to be completed in 60 minutes.

Female applicants will not have their chest measurements taken. However, it will be determined if the chest is properly formed.

Stage 5: Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

The final stage involves comprehensive medical examination conducted by authorized medical boards.
