About Scheme
The “Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students” is implemented by the Department of Higher Education since 2008. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the meritorious students, to meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies.

Eligibility Criteria of PM Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan Yojana 2025
- Students must be enrolled in regular degree courses at recognized colleges/universities.
- Students who secured more than the 80th percentile of successful applicants in the relevant stream from the respective Board of Examination in Class XII of the 10+2 pattern or equivalent.
- Students having a gross parental/family income of up to Rs. 4.5 lakh per year are eligible for the scholarship scheme.
- Applicable for students pursuing UG or PG courses; correspondence or diploma courses are not eligible.
- Students in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have an extended scheme with a few changes in qualifications.
- Not receiving any other scholarship or fee reimbursement of any kind
- To renewal the scholarship in each year of study, in addition to receiving at least 50% in the Annual Examination, a minimum attendance of at least 75% is required.
- Students must have Aadhaar seeded bank accounts opened in their names.
