To calculate your score, you need your Response Sheet and the Provisional Answer Key.

Match the Question IDs: Ensure you are looking at the same question in both documents.

Check the Option IDs: Compare the Option ID you selected (from Response Sheet) with the Correct Option ID (from Answer Key).

Add Marks: For every match, add the full marks assigned to that section (e.g., +2 for Part A/B, +4 for Part C).

Deduct Marks: For every mismatch (incorrect answer), deduct the negative marking amount (e.g., 0.5 for Part A/B, 1.0 for Part C).

Ignore Unattempted: Do not add or deduct marks for questions you did not answer.

Formula: Total Score = (Number of Correct Answers × Marks per Question) – (Number of Incorrect Answers × Negative Marking).

Understanding the marking scheme is crucial for calculating scores. The CSIR NET exam is divided into three parts: Part A (General Aptitude), Part B (Subject-related traditional MCQs), and Part C (Higher value questions that assess scientific ideas).

In all areas, wrong responses will result in negative marking. The weightage varies per topic (Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, etc.), however incorrect answers result in a 25% loss from the allocated marks.
