Answer StatusMarks AwardedCalculation
Correct Answer+1 markEach correct response adds 1 mark to total score
Wrong Answer-0.25 markEach incorrect response deducts 0.25 mark from total score
Unattempted Question0 markBlank/unattempted questions carry no penalty or award
Total Questions20050 questions in each of the four sections
Maximum Possible Score200 marksAchieved when all 200 answers are correct
Minimum Possible ScoreNegative (varies)If most answers are incorrect, can be negative due to negative marking

Once you have these counts, apply the marking scheme formula:

Total Score = (Number of Correct Answers × 1) – (Number of Wrong Answers × 0.25)

For example, suppose a candidate answers 150 questions correctly and marks 35 questions incorrectly, leaving 15 questions unattempted. The calculation would be:
Total Score = (150 × 1) – (35 × 0.25) = 150 – 8.75 = 141.25 marks
